  • Letter RE School Closure

    Mon 16 Mar 2020

    Dear Parent or Guardian,

I understand that this is a worrying and uncertain time for all.  In order to continue in the spirit of open communications it is our short term intention to close the school to children from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th March 2020.  This is to allow all staff members to prepare home learning advice and resources in the event of long term school closure.  We will make you aware later this week of how we will provide access to learning in the event of such a closure.

This decision has not been taken lightly but is to ensure that all pupils are properly resourced for the weeks and months ahead. I have attended meetings today with other school principals and I know that schools across West Belfast are taking similar measures.

If any parent feels anxious regarding the health and wellbeing of their child and would like to speak to me, I will be available in the school from lunch time on Wednesday. I hope that the Department for Education will furnish us with more information as the week unfolds.

Until then enjoy St. Patrick’s Day and stay safe.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr. D O’Neill
